 I first learned of something called the posterior chain of muscles when I took a corse to learn how to run better a few years ago.  This chain of muscles refers to our large back side muscles, ligaments, and tendons, like gluteus maximus, large back muscles, trapezius, hamstrings, and so on.When this chain of muscles is ignored it becomes weak and strained, and can become the root cause of our painful backs and necks.  Bodywork combined with strengthening exercises, is the only way to address this prominent issue.
